Job Summary

We are seeking an A ssistant Facility Supervisor for our I nsourcing Solutions site in Chicago, IL

As the Assistant Facility Supervisor , you will assist Animal Facility Supervisor in managing the daily operations of the facility by overseeing the training and performance of all animal husbandry and support staff and ensuring that all required tasks are performed and completed according to established client expectations and company standards

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Assist in coordinating personnel scheduling with business activities.

  • Participate in conducting routine inspection of animal holding rooms, support areas, facilities, equipment, and materials.

  • Assist in conducting appropriate training activities, and appropriate supervision-related activities.

  • Actively interact with customers as required to solve customer requests, inquiries, and concerns and to provide technical assistance.

  • Assist with record maintenance, including generating and submitting internal and external reports.

  • Assist with the selection, training, and evaluation of all personnel assigned under this position’s supervision.

Job Qualifications

The following are minimum requirements related to the Assistant Facility Supervisor position:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science or related discipline.

• Three years of laboratory animal barrier facility experience. Working knowledge of laboratory animal welfare guidelines and AAALAC, International guidelines. One year of computer experience with MSWord, PowerPoint and Excel programs and administrative experience in support of site operations required.

• AALAS certification at the (LAT) or (LATG) level. We will consider (LAT) but you MUST achieve the (LATG) within six months from hire date.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.

The pay for this position is $29.00 USD per hour.
